Live Results for NY-03 2024 Special Election

Certified (Formerly Live) Results for NY's 3rd Congressional District 2024 Special Election

Credit and Thank You

This data and dashboard are provided thanks to the NYC Planning Department, Nassau County Board of Elections, NYC Board of Elections, U.S. Census Bureau, Newsday, and sources kind enough to provide the data and results necessary to build this.

Important Notes

This data is free for anyone to use – however, I ask that anyone who uses it, especially the Election District shapefile, credits me (Benjamin J. Rosenblatt, or @BenJ_Rosenblatt on Twitter) and links to the data for others to use, and so all the other fine folks who helped make this possible receive their due credit.

I worked very hard to remove the possibility of any errors, but it’s always possible I missed something. If you spot anything that needs to be corrected,
please email me at ben@benjrosenblatt.com and I will fix it as soon as I’m able to.

Results shown in the Results Dashboard below are
certified and official as of March 20, 2024. On election night, the dashboard showed live, unofficial results.

Please note that the dashboard and results file below all show 1 less vote for Suozzi (D) in Nassau County than the State Board of Elections' certified results -- I'm not sure what the reason behind this tiny discrepancy is, but I'm using certified Election District-level results directly from each county Board of Elections. In addition, please note that the ED shapefile available for download below was updated on February 16, 2024.

Shapefile Notes

  • Original files were from the Nassau Board of Elections and the New York City Planning Department. The boundaries were then adjusted slightly to match the congressional district boundary and the Census county boundaries.
  • Some election districts were consolidated in Queens -- they are consolidated based on the Combinations document I received from the NYC Board of Elections. One of these consolidations crosses Assembly District boundaries.
  • The "EDMatch" field is the one most likely to match the field provided in the unofficial and official results. The "GEOID" field is my own personal identifier.
  • Neighborhood boundaries in Queens are entirely of my own making and aren't perfect. They reflect the trade-offs of imperfect election district boundaries in general and election district consolidations.
